Eastern Oromo (also known as Ittu Oromo or Qottu Oromo) is a dialect of the Oromo language. According to the Ethnologue map
of Ethiopian languages, it is spoken in the Mirab Hararghe Zone, Misraq Hararghe Zone and northern Bale Zone of the Oromia
Region of Ethiopia. According to Ethnologue, a 1994 census reported 4,530,000 speakers of this dialect. However, the 1994
Ethiopian national census did not break down language speakers according to dialect, although it reported 2,570,293 speakers
of Oromo in those two zones. |
